iOS Device Passcode

For certain use cases, you might need to perform tests on devices that are passcode-protected. BrowserStack provides a capability that lets you access passcode-protected devices. Some mobile applications that deal with sensitive data, such as banking applications, require devices to be protected with a passcode as a layer of security.

Some apps where such devices might be required are:

  • Apps that handle critical personal data such as Financial/Banking, Business/Enterprise, etc.
  • Apps distributed via MDM.
  • Apps that require other high security iOS functionalities such as Apple Pay, etc.

Use Device Passcode

  1. Log in to the App Live dashboard.
  2. On the App Live dashboard, click iOS Settings.
  3. Under General Settings, enable the Device Passcode option. The following message appears. Screenshot showing modal introducing device passcode feature
  4. Copy and save the device passcode shown on the screen. You can use this passcode when testing your app.
