File Injection in remote devices

Live enables you to upload files on remote devices and test the file upload functionality of your website. After uploading the file to the remote device, you can access and use it to test your website.

In this guide, you learn about:

Supported devices and files

Live supports file injection on the following devices:

Devices with Android OS 6 and higher.

Devices with iOS 13 and higher.

  • Files of .csv, .doc, .docx, .pdf, .txt, .xls, or .xlsx formats.
  • Maximum file size of 15 MB.

Upload files on remote devices

Important: You can upload only one file at a time.
  1. Log in to the Live dashboard.
  2. On the Live dashboard, select the device-browser combination to start your test session.
  3. On the Live toolbar, click File Injection.
  4. Click Upload new file and select the file that you want to upload from your system.
    After the file upload is complete, you see a message that file injection is successful.

Your uploaded file is available in the Downloads folder in the File Manager app of the remote Android device.

  1. Log in to the Live dashboard.
  2. On the Live dashboard, select the device-browser combination to start your test session.
  3. On the Live toolbar, click File Injection.
  4. Click Upload new file and select the file that you want to upload from your system.
    After the file upload is complete, you see a message that file injection is successful.

Your uploaded file is available in Chrome->Custom_Files folder in the Files app of the remote iOS device.
