Data collection terms in Test Observability

Learn what data is collected in Test Observability using BrowserStack SDKs and other custom integrations

Data collection through BrowserStack SDK

The following data would be collected from your test environment and presented to you for your ease of debugging:

  • Test names, test organization hierarchy, and applicable folder and filepaths to be able to show the test case hierarchy in our reporting.
  • Any test logs including framework logs that would come in your machine’s terminal.
  • Any custom logs that you might’ve put as part of your test cases using statements like console.log or System.out.println etc.
  • All HTTP(S) calls made from your tests (including Selenium webdriver calls)
  • git commit ID information so that we’re able to create deep links of your test cases for better debugging.
  • Body of the test function so that we’re able to show it against the test case run for your enhanced debugging experience.
  • Any screenshots taken by you during your tests.
  • Webdriver capabilities that you might’ve specified for your Selenium/Appium tests
  • CI build number and URL to be able to link it back to the CI run.
  • Host name of the machine from where the build was executed.
