Integration with Microsoft Visual Studio App Center

Use our integration with App Center to seamlessly test your latest app versions on our Real Device Cloud.

Introduction

Our seamless API integration allows you:

1. To view and test your latest builds distributed via App Center, and also share them with your teammates
2. To view and test builds your teammates’ builds shared via App Center

After completing a one-time setup on App Live, select the build you want to test and instantly start testing.

To view and test your builds from App Center

Get API token from App Center

To view and test your builds, you need to get your API token from App Center. Follow these steps to generate the API token:

1. Sign in to your App Center account.

2. Visit Account Settings → API Tokens

3. Click on “New API token”.

4. Name your token (eg: Integrate App Live) and click “Create”.

5. Select the ‘Access’ as ‘Read only’.

6. Generate and copy the API token.

   

Sync your apps to App Live

Follow these steps to sync your apps to App Live:

1. Go to App Live dashboard.

2. Click on “Sync with App Center” to open the configuration modal.

   

3. In the configuration modal, paste your API token and click on “Validate”.

   

4. Select the apps you want to test and click on “Sync”.

5. You can also choose to share these synced apps with other teammates on App Live, by selecting the “Enable App Sharing” checkbox.

   

Test your apps

Once the setup in completed, you can go to App Live dashboard and start testing any of your builds, including the latest ones. Follow these steps to get started:

1. Select “Sync with App Center” option on App Live dashboard.
2. For the build you want to test, click on sync icon to upload to our servers.
3. Select a device and start testing.
4. Note: “.aab” files synced from App Center are not supported for testing on BrowserStack App Live.

To view and test teammates’ builds shared from App Center

If a user in your team on App Live has already shared apps, you can start testing with a few clicks.

Follow these steps to view others’ App Center apps on App Live:

1. Go to App Live dashboard.

2. Click on “Sync with App Center” to open the configuration modal.

   

3. In the configuration modal, click on “View Shared Apps” to view the apps being shared currently.

   

4. Select the build you want to test, click on sync icon to upload to our servers.

5. Select a device and start testing.

Note:

1. Your API token will not be visible to other team members.
2. Other team members cannot modify your list of apps.
3. Apps will be shared with all users who are a part of your app testing team on BrowserStack.
4. Only 1 user per team can enable sharing.
