Snapshot Grouping with Matching Diffs

Automatically match and group snapshots that have the same visual change

Percy simplifies the review process by automatically matching and grouping snapshots with similar visual changes, streamlining your workflow.

Matching Diffs Criteria

For diffs to be matched, the following criteria must be met:

• Consistent Geometry: Diffs across all screenshots must share the same size, regardless of page coordinates.
• Pixel Consistency: Baseline and new screenshots must have identical underlying pixels across all diffs.
• Matching Parameters: Only snapshots with identical diff geometry and pixel consistency for each enabled width and browser are matched.

Approving and Requesting Changes on Groups

When matching diffs are detected, they are grouped together at the top of your snapshot list. With a single click, you can approve or request changes for all matching snapshots. While you can expand the group to inspect individual snapshots, approving or requesting changes for individual snapshots within a group is not possible. Additionally, requesting changes for a group automatically adds a “changes requested” comment to each grouped snapshot.
