Import data using CSV
Step 1: Upload File
- Upload the file which contains test cases.
- Only CSV type of file format is supported at present.
- Maximum file size allowed is 100 MB.
- Allowed CSV separators are (\,), (\;), (:), (|), (\t).
- Select the row number in First Row from which data is to be read.
- Select File Encoding based on the content of the file type.
- Check First row has column names if the 1st row in the file contains column names.
- To understand the structure of import file, please download sample.csv file .
- Click Next to process file.
Step 2: Map Fields
- CSV Column header lists contains all the column names from the uploaded file.
- Test Management Fields contains fields to be mapped correspondingly with the CSV column.
- Title is a mandatory field
- Duplicate mapping of the fields with CSV Columns is not allowed.
- Value Mapping is to map the value from the file with following options:
- Map with the system defined values.
- Create new values as it is from CSV file.
- Ignore the value. - Following fields will save data as it is:
- Test Case ID (if any)
- Title
- Description
- Steps
- Results
- Estimates
- Updated At
- Created At - For Folders, there are options for different separators from the Value Mapping list.
- For Jira Issues, there are options for different separators from the Value Mapping list.
- Fields are automatically mapped using smart intelligence.
- If any mandatory fields are not mapped, they take default values.
- After completing the value mapping, click Next to proceed.
Step 3: Confirm Import
- Users can preview some of the randomly selected test cases.
- Click Confirm to begin import process.
Step 4: Post Completion
- Wait for the process to complete.
- Users can cancel the import at anytime before completion.
- The process time depends on the number of test cases being imported.
- If the import fails, the system generates an error log file of the failed test cases.
- If the import is successful, the progress modal closes and Test Cases page opens.
