Import test data from CSV

You can import test cases by uploading a CSV file with all the information.

You can import test cases data by uploading a .csv file.

Upload CSV file

Log in to Test Management and select a project or click Create Project to create a project.

Click Import via CSV on the top-right or Import from CSV under the Add Test Cases section. Import test cases using CSV file

Click Upload a file to upload your .csv file.

Uploading the CSV file

To understand the structure of the import file, download the sample.csv file. Optionally, you can define the CSV Separator type, First Row number from which data is to be read, and File Encoding type based on the content of the file type, by selecting the Show More Fields option.

Click Proceed to map the fields and update all the test cases. You can also click Edit Field & Value Mapping if you need to edit the fields and values to map. Mapping the test case data

Here you can customize your field mapping, click WILL BE MAPPED TO drop-down menu to select one of the customisable options. Mapping the test case data to a customized filed

Click Import Test Cases to confirm and import all the test case information in the Preview & Confirm section. You can also preview some of the randomly selected test cases to verify the information or can go back to the previous steps to Update File and Update Mapping. Confirming to import the data

The import procedure extracts all the information and, creates folders and test cases automatically in the Test Cases section.

If the import fails, you can either download a system-generated report of the failure, or try importing the data again.

CSV file conditions

  • Only the .csv file format is supported to upload.
  • Maximum file size allowed is 100 MB.
  • Allowed CSV separators are ,, ;, :, |, t.

Quick Import or CSV import saves email addresses of unregistered users and automatically assigns the associated test cases and test runs when they register or login to Test Management.
