Quick Import

Quick Import provides project migration from other tools for the first time user as part of onboarding. The platforms supported at present are:

  • TestRail
  • Zephyr Scale

Import data from TestRail

To import data from TestRail, follow these steps:

Step 1: Choose tool

  1. Select tool as Zephyr Scale.
  2. Provide following details:
    • TestRail Email Address
    • TestRail Host Name
      • This is your TestRail’s web address.
      • Eg: https://abcd.testrail.io
    • TestRail API Key
      • Can be found here: https://< TestRail Host Name >/index.php?/mysettings
      • Eg: https://abcd.testrail.io/index.php?/mysettings
  3. Click Test connection to verify the connection with provided details.
  4. Click Proceed to save and establish the connection.

Step 2: Configure data

  1. List of all the projects in your TestRail account will show up.
  2. Select the desired projects to import from the list. By default, we will attempt to import all the projects from your TestRail account.

Step 3: Confirm import

  1. List of selected projects to be imported.
  2. Click Confirm to begin the import process.

Step 4: Post confirmation

  1. Import of the projects runs in the background.
  2. Check the import status by clicking on Check Import Status on the ribbon in the top header section.
  3. After the import is complete, Click View Report to check the result of import process.
  4. After the import is complete, Click Retry Import to restart the import process.
  5. If the import was successful, Click All Projects link in the left navigation panel to view projects.

Import using TestRail’s XML File (Coming Soon!)

You can also perform Quick Import of data by uploading TestRail’s XML File. This feature will be coming very soon for our users.

Import data from Zephyr Scale

To import data from Zephyr Scale, follow these steps:

Step 1: Choose tool

  1. Select tool as Zephyr Scale.
  2. Provide following details:
    • Jira Host Name
      • Host Name is your JIRA account where Zephyr is linked.
      • Eg: https://abcd.atlassian.net
    • Jira Email Address
    • Jira API Token
      • Find your Jira API token here.
      • Read here to know how can you create a Jira token.
    • Zephyr Scale API Token
      • Refer this link for generating or accessing Zephyr Scale API token.
  3. Click Test connection to verify the connection with provided details.
  4. Click Proceed to save and establish the connection.

Step 2: Configure data

  1. List of all the projects in the tool.
  2. Select the desired projects from the list.

Step 3: Confirm import

  1. List of selected projects to be imported.
  2. Click Confirm to begin the import process.

Step 4: Post confirmation

  1. The project import runs in the background.
  2. Check the import status by clicking Check Import Status in the ribbon at the top of the page.
  3. Once the import is complete, Click View Report to check the import results.
  4. If import fails, Click Retry Import to restart the process again.
  5. If the import is successful, click All Projects in the left navigation panel to view imported projects.
