Manage Test Runs in Jira app

The BrowserStack integration for Jira app simplifies your workflow by allowing you to create and manage test runs directly within Jira. You can easily link relevant test cases, choose your preferred browser/device/OS configurations, edit test runs, and close or delete runs as needed. You can also unlink test runs and the associated Jira issue.

Create Test Runs in Jira app

To create a test run from the Jira app, follow these steps:

  1. In the Jira app, navigate to the test runs list view in a project where you want to create a test run.
  2. Click Create Test Run.

    A Create New Test Run dialog box appears, and the current date appends to the Test Run Name field. The test run linked to the default Jira issue is automatically added to the test run.

  3. Click Update in the Test Runs field to select the test cases to add to the Test Run.

  4. Apply Owner, Priority, and Tags filters to narrow Test Runs. Enable Link Tests Dynamically for Dynamic Selection of Test Runs.

  5. Click Select <number> Test Cases.
  6. Enter Configurations, Description, Assign Rule, Tags, State, and Jira Issues parameters as necessary.

  7. Click Create.

The new Test Run appears in the Test Runs list view.

Edit Test Run from Jira app

You can edit a test run from the Jira app if you choose to modify its applicable fields. To edit the test run, follow these steps:

  1. In the Jira app, navigate to the Jira issue.
  2. Locate the test run, click the kebab menu, and select Edit Test Run.

  3. Make the required changes to the fields as applicable.
  4. Click Update.

The test run is updated with the new information and is available in the test run list view.

Close Test Run from Jira app

You can close the test runs from the Jira app. To close the test run, follow these steps:

  1. In the Jira app, navigate to the Jira issue.
  2. Locate the test run, click the kebab menu, and select Close Test Run.

  3. Click Close Test Run.

The test run is closed in both the Jira app and Test Management.

If you have Jira issue linked to the Test Run, it is possible to remove the connection between them. This will unlink the existing test run on both platforms, the Jira app and Test Management. To unlink the test run, follow these steps:

  1. In the Jira app, navigate to the Jira issue.
  2. Locate the test run, click the kebab menu, and select Unlink from JIRA.

  3. Click Unlink.

The test run in the Jira app is unlinked from the one in Test Management.

Delete Test Run from Jira app

You can delete the test runs from the Jira app. To delete the test run, follow these steps:

  1. In the Jira app, navigate to the Jira issue.
  2. Locate the test run, click the kebab menu, and select Delete Test Run.

  3. Click Delete Test Run.

The test run has been removed from both the Jira app and Test Management.
