Create test plans

Learn to create comprehensive test plans.

Test plans help you to group test runs within a project. It enables you to organize and track releases effectively.

The following steps guide you to create test plans within a given project.

  1. On the left navigation section, click Test Plans.

  2. Within the Test Plans dashboard, click Create Test Plan button.

    The Create New Test Plan dialog box appears, and the current date automatically appendes to the name.

  3. Enter the below information:
    • Title: Modify as needed to provide a clear and descriptive title.
    • Date Range: Specify the start and end dates for the test plan to define its duration.
    • Description: Provide a comprehensive description of the test plan’s objectives, scope, and any relevant details to ensure clarity.

  4. Click Create.

A new test plan with an ID with no linked test runs is generated. All active test plans are listed under the active plans tab in the test plans dashboard. You can now add test runs to the test plan.

Edit test plan

The Edit Test Plan allows you to update test plan information, including the title, start and end dates, and, the detailed description.

Follow these steps to edit a test plan.

  1. Navigate to the test plan dashboard.
  2. Click Edit Test Plan from the menu associted to the test plan.

  3. Update the necessary information and click Update.

The test plan with the updated information is now available in the test plans dashboard.

Delete test plan

Deleting a test plan helps keep your project clean and organized. You can delete any test plans that are no longer needed, redundant test plans, and completed test plans if required. It is important to note that deleting a test plan is a permanent action.

Follow these steps to delete a test plan.

  1. Navigate to the test plan dashboard.
  2. Click Delete from the menu associted to the test plan.

  3. Click Delete.
