Role-based access control in Test Observability

Learn the different access levels in Test Observability.

How Test Observability handles access levels

Test Observability controls access levels using two types of roles:

  • IAM Role: Identity and Access Management (IAM) roles are applicable for all BrowserStack products, including Test Observability. These roles determine if you can provide access to other users within your organization account on BrowserStack. Click here to learn more about IAM roles.
  • Product Role: Product roles are specific to a BrowserStack product. Your product role determines your access to the different features in Test Observability.

Role Based Access Control (RBAC) is available only on paid plans of Test Observability. All users on a free plan will be assigned a Product admin role by default. Updating the product roles from the IAM module will not reflect on Test Observability for users on a free plan.
