Asana

Connect Percy to Asana to file tasks from a snapshot, with the snapshot image, build context, and AI RCA explanation attached.

BrowserStack Percy’s Asana integration lets you connect your Percy project with Asana for easier reporting of visual review findings. You can create Asana tasks from the Percy review dashboard at the snapshot level, including a specific browser and width combination. This helps you report issues faster without switching between tools.

Percy supports Asana Cloud only.

How to integrate?

You integrate Asana with Percy while creating a task from the Percy build review screen.

Step 1: Open the Percy build you want to review and click the Report a bug icon on the review screen. Report a bug icon on the Percy build review screen

Step 2: Choose one of the following authentication options (this is a one-time setup):

  • Option 1: Authenticate during task creation.

Click Report a bug, then authenticate via the BrowserStack Integrations consent screen to grant access to the Asana workspace and projects you want to file against. After successful authentication, Percy opens the Asana task form with mandatory fields such as Workspace, Project, and Task name.

  • Option 2: Enable group-level access

A Group Admin can enable group-level access for their team from the Accounts & Profile page. Locate Asana under Project Management Tools and click Connect.

Then toggle the Enable Group Level Access for my team option. When you use this option, Percy creates all Asana tasks using the Group Admin’s authenticated session.

Step 3: Enter the required Asana task details in the form.

  • When you create a task for the first time, enter details such as the workspace, project, assignee, and task name.
  • For subsequent task creation, Percy automatically fills the workspace and project you used previously.

  • When you update an existing task, select a task from the available list and update it as needed. Percy adds the latest snapshot details and screenshots to the task description.

Step 4: Click Create or Update.

Percy creates or updates the Asana task and links it to the selected snapshot.

How to check?

Percy creates Asana tasks at the snapshot level. You can access created tasks from multiple places in the Percy review experience:

  • Build-level task count on the Percy build listing screen Build listing with Asana task count indicator on the build row
  • Snapshot thumbnail, which shows linked Asana tasks
  • Task count on the Report a bug icon Linked Asana tasks displayed in the Report a bug panel

These indicators help you quickly identify which snapshots already have associated Asana tasks.

How to open the task?

After Percy creates an Asana task:

  1. Open the Percy build review screen.
  2. Click the linked task from the snapshot or the Report a bug panel.

Linked Asana tasks displayed in the Report a bug panel

Percy opens the task in Asana in a new tab, where you can track status, add comments, or update fields.

You can remove the association between an Asana task and a Percy snapshot if the link is no longer needed.

  1. Open the Percy build where the task is linked.
  2. Locate the linked task.
  3. Click Delink next to the task.

  1. Confirm the action. Delink confirmation dialog prompting user to confirm removal of task association

Percy removes the association between the Asana task and the snapshot. This action does not update or close the task.

Troubleshooting

  • Asana Cloud only.
  • Tasks not visible: Verify that the Percy Project maps to the correct Asana workspace and project, and that the OAuth scope grants access to them.
  • Authentication errors: Re-authenticate with Asana if the connection fails. Confirm your browser is allowing third-party cookies for browserstack.com.
  • Workspace missing from the picker: Re-authenticate from Accounts & Profile > Integrations > Asana > Reconnect to grant the required scope.
