App Accessibility rule engine release notes
Release notes for each version of the Spectra™ rule engine that runs BrowserStack App Accessibility scans on Android and iOS.
BrowserStack App Accessibility scans your app with the Spectra™ rule engine. Each release of the rule engine may add rules, change how existing rules detect issues, or remove rules.
The rule engine version determines which checks run during a scan. Depending on the version, the issue counts or scores may change between reports. Every report records the version its scans ran on, for example Spectra Android 2.0.2 or Spectra iOS 1.0.2. The Rule engine version section in the report details links to the release notes for that version. Android and iOS use separate versions of the rule engine.
Reports created before rule engine versioning began don’t show the rule engine version in the report details.
To check whether a rule engine update explains a change in issue counts, see Troubleshoot differences in issue counts between reports.

The rule engine version for an iOS scan depends on how the app is installed on the device. The checks that App Accessibility can run also differ between these install modes.
