Disable Prevent Cross-Site Tracking in iOS

Live provides an option to disable prevent cross site tracking feature available in iOS settings app on our iOS devices.

Overview

Most of the websites use third-party content providers who track your browsing activities across websites to advertise products and services.

Social media platforms put buttons such as share, like, etc., on different web pages, allowing them to track user activities. Different websites then consume this data to advertise products or services to the users. By default, a prevent cross-site tracking setting is enabled, allowing safari to block this tracking. Safari flushes the cookies and website data every time users visit a webpage, thus restricting data sharing across different websites.

There are multiple ways in which you can utilize the stored data for your purposes, such as advertisements, etc. For example, you can use stored cookies and their website data to identify the user for authentication purposes.

Disable prevent cross-site tracking

  1. On the Live dashboard, click iOS Settings.

  2. Under Safari Settings, toggle the Prevent Cross-Site Tracking switch to disable the option. Screenshot showing disabling prevent cross-site tracking feature in iOS settings section
