Generate test steps using AI

Use natural language prompts to generate test steps automatically in BrowserStack’s Salesforce Test Automation editor without learning commands.

BrowserStack’s Salesforce Test Automation editor provides an AI-first experience that lets you generate test steps using natural language prompts. In addition to using the specific commands, you can describe your testing intentions in plain English, such as Create a new lead with name John Smith or Verify the opportunity stage is Closed Won, and AI automatically generates the corresponding test steps. This approach reduces the learning curve for manual QA testers by eliminating the need to learn specific commands upfront, allowing them to focus on what they want to test.

Example use cases

You can use AI interactions for various testing scenarios:

• Create records: Create a lead with first name John, last name Smith, and company BrowserStack

Generate dynamic test steps with AI interactions

To generate test steps using AI:

1. In the Salesforce Test Automation test editor, you can either click + Add first step to build tests step-by-step, or describe your test objective in the text box provided.

2. In the test objective text box, enter a clear and detailed description of your test scenario in plain English. List the actions you want to perform step-by-step.

   Example:

   1. Navigate to Accounts tab
   2. Open account record 'Acme'
   3. Edit the record
   4. Add Account Type as Other
   

3. Click Execute test to start the AI generation process. The AI analyzes your objective and begins generating the executable test steps.

   
   

4. While the test is running, the Objective Brief panel displays your input and shows the AI’s thought process:
   • OBJECTIVE INPUT: Shows your original test objective
   • Thinking and analysing: Displays real-time insights into how the AI is interpreting your request and determining the best steps to achieve your objective
5. As the AI executes, the Test steps panel shows completed, running, and upcoming steps in real time.
6. If required, you can click Stop at any time to halt the AI generation process.
7. Once the AI completes generating and executing the steps, you can review the test steps and click Save test to save your test for future use.
8. You can also add new actions using the input field at the bottom or modify existing steps before saving the test.
