Geo Region Restriction (GRR) for Website Scanner

Learn about BrowserStack’s Geo Region Restriction (GRR) for Website Scanner, including supported regions, limitations, and setup requirements.

Geo Region Restriction (GRR) lets you control where your Website Scanner scan data is stored. If enabled, your test data will reside in a specific geographic region, ensuring compliance with data residency regulations and your organization’s internal policies.

The GRR feature is available exclusively on our Enterprise plan. To get this feature enabled, contact BrowserStack support. You can learn more on our pricing page.

GRR supported regions

BrowserStack Website Scanner supports GRR in the following regions:

  • United States
  • Europe
  • India

Data covered by GRR

GRR covers the majority of your core scan data within BrowserStack Website Scanner, ensuring it remains within your chosen region and is not accessible from other regions. This includes:

  • Project and Team Data
     Information about your scans, team members, and how your scans are scheduled.
  • Data Validation
    Any scan created, modified, edited, or archived in your chosen region will remain exclusively within that region.

Data not covered by GRR

The following data types are not currently included in GRR restrictions:

  • Usage Analytics
     Aggregated, anonymized data about product usage patterns.
  • Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
     Usernames and email addresses used for authentication. This data is kept separate for security purposes and is not shared.

Feature limitations when using GRR

  • Real-time scan progress updates are not supported.
  • Non-accessibility scans cannot be performed while GRR is active.
