Your test sessions may fail because the application under test (AUT) has crashed during test execution. BrowserStack detects if a crash happened and provides you crash logs that you can attach as part of your bug report to debug further.

Crash Logs provide access to the crash reports generated by iOS in the background once a crash occurs. These crash reports document the following :

  • How the app crashed by providing Exception information
  • Complete backtrace of each thread documenting the code running at the time of the crash

To diagnose crashes in the app, you can download and share the crash reports with your development team. For more details on how to diagnose issues with crash reports, please refer to the Apple Documentation.

Crash Logs are enabled by default for all Appium iOS sessions and can be accessed from the App Automate dashboard.

Crash logs are available on the BrowserStack dashboard for 30 days. These logs will be deleted after 30 days from the day they were generated.
