App Live
BrowserStack App Live is a cloud-based platform for interactively testing and debugging mobile applications on real Android and iOS devices, with a wide coverage of OS versions, device manufacturers, and screen sizes.
App Live enables instant, on-demand, and secure testing without the hassle of building and maintaining a personal device cloud.
Browsers that support App Live
App Live test sessions are supported on the Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge (Chromium) browsers.
Launch your App Live test session
Prerequisite
Ensure that you use the Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge (Chromium) browser on your system to launch your App Live test session.
To launch your session:
- Sign in to App Live by using your Google or company login credentials, to open the App Live dashboard.
If you do not have a BrowserStack account, you can create an account for a free trial. - Upload or install your app from the list of supported app sources.
- Select your device from the device listing.
Your test session is launched, and you can test your app using the App Live features.
App Live dashboard
The App Live dashboard displays the list of app sources, and real Android and iOS devices that you can test your apps on.
The following image provides a view of the App Live dashboard:
- Select Source: List of app sources from which you can upload or install your app for testing.
- Device listing: List of real Android and iOS devices on which you can test your apps.
App sources
The Select Source section lists the following app sources supported on App Live:
App Source | Description |
---|---|
Uploaded apps | Upload the .ipa or .apk/.aab files of your app from your system or from a public URL. |
Sync with App Center | Sync your App Center apps using API integration, for testing on BrowserStack real devices. |
Install via TestFlight | Install beta apps from TestFlight for testing on BrowserStack real devices. |
Install via Play Store | Install apps from Google Play Store for testing on BrowserStack real devices. |
Install via App Store | Install apps from Apple App Store for testing on BrowserStack real devices. |
Upload apps using API and integrations
Optional to manual app upload, you can upload apps by using any of the following:
- REST API
- Integrations such as Gradle plugin and fastlane plugin.
Launch session using integration URL
App Live provides the option of launching your test session instantly by using integration URLs that have testing options as parameters.
