Manage test cases
Azure DevOps integration with Test Management to connect test runs and test results with Azure work items.
Enhance your test planning by linking test cases to their corresponding requirements. It is a great way to keep everything organized while ensuring that nothing gets overlooked. Whether you are reusing some of your favorite assets or creating fresh new scenarios, our app offers plenty of flexible options to help you out. With these tools at your fingertips, you can confidently ensure that every Work Item gets the attention it needs for thorough test coverage.
Quickly add a new test case
For rapid test planning, you can add a test case by simply entering a title. This is useful when you want to outline scenarios quickly and fill in the details later.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Linked test cases list.
- Click into the Add new test case input field.
- Type the title of your test case.
- Press Enter or click Add.
The test case is immediately created with the specified title and linked to the Work Item. You can click on the test case title later to add steps, preconditions, and priority details.
Create new test cases
If you need to define the full scope of a test immediately, including steps and preconditions, use the detailed creation.
- In the BrowserStack tab, select Create Test Case from the menu or the Add dropdown.
- Complete the test case details in the form provided:
- Title: Enter a concise summary of the test scenario.
- Preconditions: State any necessary setup steps.
- Steps & Results: Define the specific actions and expected outcomes.
- Priority: Assign a priority level (e.g., Critical, High).
- Click Create Test Case to save.
Your new detailed test case is created in BrowserStack and automatically linked to this Work Item, ensuring your test repository stays synchronized with your project requirements.
Link existing test cases
If you have a repository of tests that are relevant to your current work, you can map them to specific requirements to establish immediate traceability.
- In the BrowserStack section of the Work Item, locate the Linked test cases header.
- Click the More Options icon (three vertical dots ⋮) on the right side of the header.
- Select Link Existing Test Case(s) from the dropdown menu.
- Use the search field to find tests by ID, or title.
- Select the checkboxes next to the relevant test cases and click Select test cases to confirm.
The selected test cases are now linked to the Work Item. You can view their current status and priority in the “Linked test cases” table, giving you an immediate view of the testing scope.
Generate test cases with AI
Accelerate your test planning by leveraging AI to analyze your requirements. The AI scans your Azure DevOps Work Item description and acceptance criteria to suggest relevant, high-quality test cases automatically.
- In the BrowserStack section, select Generate test cases with AI.
- Allow the AI to analyze the Work Item’s description and generate a list of proposed test cases.
- Review the suggestions provided:
- Edit: Modify titles or steps to better fit your specific needs.
- Reject: Discard any suggestions that are not relevant.
- Approve & Add: Accept valid tests to include them in your plan.
- Click Approve & Add to finalize the creation.
You have quickly generated comprehensive test coverage based directly on your documented requirements, significantly reducing the manual effort required for test authoring.
