Manage test run state
Learn how lifecycle state controls a test run’s behavior.
Every test run has a lifecycle state that controls its behavior. Understanding and managing this state is key to finalizing your test cycles and archiving results.
A test run can be in one of two states:
-
Active: The default state. The test run is in progress, and testers can add or change results.
-
Closed: The test run is finished and locked. Results can no longer be modified, which protects the data for historical reporting.
To complete a test run:
-
Navigate to the test runs dashboard in your project.
- Locate the test run you want to finalize.
-
Click the three-dot menu (⋮) on the right side of the test run’s row and select Close Run.
A confirmation dialog appears.
- Click Close Run.
