Troubleshoot report upload issues in Test Management
Fix problems with test results uploaded to Test Management from JUnit XML reports, such as test case names that end at 500 characters.
A report upload can return success and still store less than you sent.
Test case name ends at 500 characters
The test run shows a name that stops mid-word at exactly 500 characters. The upload response reported success, and the name has no ellipsis.
Test Management stores a test case name of up to 500 characters. When a <testcase> name value is longer, the import keeps the first 500 characters and drops the rest. The upload does not report the cut.
Solution: Keep each <testcase> name under 500 characters. When a name must carry long parameter values, tag the test with its test case ID instead. Test Management then maps the result by ID, not by name.
For more detail, see the following pages:
- Test Case ID Tagging for the tagging syntax.
- Test case name limit for the full mapping rules.
