Test iOS app groups entitlement
Enable app groups entitlement during iOS sessions to allow shared containers, preferences, and other shared data between apps and extensions.
App groups entitlement lets multiple iOS apps or app extensions signed with the same developer certificate share resources and data. Enable this to test how your app uses shared containers, preferences, or other data between extensions or companion apps.
For more information on app groups entitlement, see the Apple Developer Documentation.
Supported platforms
- App Groups entitlement is supported only on iOS devices.
Prerequisites
- Ensure the test app is signed with a developer certificate that includes the required app groups entitlement. If your app does not have this entitlement or is signed with an unsupported certificate, shared containers and preferences will not work during the session.
Enable app groups entitlement
To enable app groups entitlement for iOS apps:
- Log in to the App Live dashboard.
- Upload your app from the Select Source panel. For detailed steps, see Upload app.
- After your app is uploaded, click the configuration icon (⚙️) next to the file name of your app.
- Under App Configurations, enable the iOS app groups entitlement toggle.
- Select a device to launch the session.
