Installation and project configuration issues

This page helps you troubleshoot installation and configuration issues with the Test Management for Jira app. You will learn how to verify your app version, resolve project visibility problems, and ensure your setup is compatible with the latest features.

Verify your app version

To ensure you have the latest features and bug fixes, it is important to keep the app up to date. If you are facing compatibility or other issues, the first step is always to verify your app version.

  1. As a Jira Administrator, navigate to Jira Admin > Manage Apps.
  2. In the sidebar under user-installed apps, locate the Test Management for Jira app.
  3. Check the version number listed and compare it with the version on the Atlassian Marketplace listing. The version number is clearly displayed in the app details section.

If your version is outdated, click the Update button before proceeding with any other troubleshooting steps.

App not visible in a specific Jira project

If the BrowserStack app is visible in some projects but does not appear in a specific one, it may be because the app’s configuration for that project is stale or disabled.

To resolve this, a Jira Administrator can refresh the project’s configuration:

  1. Navigate to Jira Admin > Manage Apps.
  2. Select BrowserStack from the app list in the sidebar. This will open the app’s admin page.
  3. Go to Project Configuration.
  4. Check if the affected project is in the Disabled Projects List.
    • If the project is listed: Remove it from the disabled list to re-enable it.
    • If the project is not listed: Add the project to the disabled list, save the change, and then immediately remove it. This action forces a configuration refresh and often resolves visibility issues.
