Link GitHub Issues from a test case
Integrate GitHub Issues with Test Management to link your test cases directly to issues, enabling end-to-end traceability between requirements and test coverage.
Linking test cases to GitHub issues helps you track requirements (like user stories or features) against your test repository. This ensures that every requirement has corresponding test coverage.
Prerequisites
- You must first Integrate with GitHub.
Link GitHub Issue from a test case
You can create a new GitHub issue (like a user story or task) directly from a test case.
- Navigate to your test case repository and create/edit the test case you want to link.
- In the test case details, find the Requirements section.
- In the Requirements field:
- If you have integrated GitHub, select GitHub from the dropdown.
- Click GitHub button to integrate and link the issue.

- In the GitHub dialog, enter the following details:
- Organisation, Repository and Project name.
- Choose one of the tabs:
- Create issue to generate a new GitHub issue.
- Update existing issue to link an existing GitHub issue.
- Enter all the relevant details.

- Click Create/Update.
The issue is created/updated in your GitHub repository and is now linked to your test case, providing clear traceability between your test and the requirement it validates.
