Get started with Auto User Provisioning

Connect your IdP with BrowserStack to manage your users and licenses

Introduction

Auto User Provisioning enables you to integrate an external user directory with your BrowserStack account. You can connect your identity provider with BrowserStack to automatically provision and de-provision users in your account. BrowserStack supports user provisioning with the System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) standard.

Supported features

  1. User provisioning and de-provisioning
  2. User’s BrowserStack role assignment
  3. User’s BrowserStack product access
  4. User’s BrowserStack team membership
Note:
  • Auto User Provisioning is an Enterprise feature on BrowserStack.
  • BrowserStack supports Auto user provisioning with Okta and OneLogin. If you are using any other IdP you can use Open SCIM connector to provision and de-provision users from your IdP.
  • You can also use User and Team Management REST APIs to manage users. Please connect with your Account Executive for further details.

BrowserStack supports setting up of auto user provisioning via the self-serve method. You need to be BrowserStack account Owner and have administrator access on the IdP. Currently, you can setup connector with the following IdPs:

For IdP’s other than Okta, OneLogin, you can use Open SCIM connector (if your IdP supports SCIM) to provision and de-provision users.

Who can set up Auto User Provisioning?

The Owner of the BrowserStack account can set up auto user provisioning.

Note: Owner can also allow SSO and AUP setup access to one of the Group admin from Settings & Permissions -> Permissions -> Authentication & Security Settings.

Don’t see your Identity Provider?

  • We are working on increasing the number of IdPs that support auto user provisioning with BrowserStack. You can use Open SCIM connector if your IdP supports SCIM.
  • BrowserStack also offers REST APIs to manage users. Please connect with support team for further details.

What do I have to do to the existing BrowserStack users after setup?

You will need to assign the User Provisioning app on your IdP, to allow these users to get synced with BrowserStack via SCIM. Once synced, you can control these users via the IdP app.
