Why does the app screen go blank when I interact with the app on App Live?

BrowserStack uses a custom streaming technology to stream video content from the remote devices hosted in our data centers to your local browsers. To facilitate this video streaming, screen capture capabilities/permissions are essential.

You might see a blank screen when you click a button in the app on BrowserStack App Live if you have this screen capture capability/permission (FLAG_SECURE setting) enabled for your Android app. This prevents the app screens from appearing in screenshots or screen recordings. 

To allow screen recording / screen streaming on BrowserStack, and to prevent the app screen from going blank, disable the FLAG_SECURE setting for your Android app or contact our Support team.
