BrowserStack is proud to announce our $50 million Series A investment from Accel (for a minority equity stake), and our new North American headquarters in San Francisco.

This is a unique milestone for a company that has been bootstrapped and profitable since our founding in 2011. Today, we are the most reliable web and mobile browser testing platform on the market.

When we both founded BrowserStack, our mission was (and still is today) to make developers’ lives easier. We sought to eliminate the pain points of manual and automated browser testing so that users could focus on building better products and services. We knew these challenges firsthand, having experienced them ourselves throughout our previous startups.

So, we resolved to empower developers by creating BrowserStack – a technology built by developers, for developers. The effort has become more successful than we could ever imagine.

Today, BrowserStack has more than 25,000 unique paying global customers which include household names like Microsoft, Amazon, Twitter, AIG, Lowe’s, CVS and Gap. Originally driven by an organic, word-of-mouth movement, in just six years our user base has grown to more than 2 million designers, developers and testers across 135 countries. BrowserStack is the de facto standard in testing, enabling organizations to:

  • Ship Bug-free Products: By providing a combination of more than 2,000 real mobile devices, browsers and operating systems, BrowserStack allows you to be confident your product works everywhere.
  • Focus on Building & Increase Agility: We take the pain out of testing and reduce the time to deploy code from weeks to hours. The result is quicker and faster deployments and iterations, allowing you to keep the focus on what matters most – delighting your customers.
  • Build a Culture of Quality: Testing is the last line of defense to ensure a great customer experience. BrowserStack helps you to create a culture of quality in your company.

With today’s news we’re also delighted to welcome Google veteran Shailesh Rao as our San Francisco-based Chief Operating Officer, and Ryan Sweeney, Partner at Accel, who joins our board of directors. With offices in Mumbai, Dublin and now San Francisco, BrowserStack has become a truly a global company for a global market.

Our vision is to continue our work as the most reliable testing infrastructure for the internet, and to empower developers to build amazing experiences in the process.

We look forward to continuing the BrowserStack journey and invite you to learn more about our company and growth at www.browserstack.com/growth
