To celebrate the relentless passion of testers, BrowserStack is honoring some of the icons in the testing space—those who push the industry forward by sharing their knowledge with the community at large through their thought leadership.

True leadership in quality assurance is about building from the ground up—not just processes, but communities and companies. Bohdan Savchuk, a Software QA Expert and Co-founder of Anbosoft, is a testament to this principle. With over 12 years of experience, he has a proven track record of establishing robust QA functions from scratch. Bohdan’s influence extends into the critical domains of IoT and Cybersecurity as well. His ability to connect high-level strategic vision with hands-on execution makes him a true Icon of Quality.

We spoke with Bohdan about the synergy between AI and testers, the timeless value of curiosity, and a tester’s most crucial skills.

What are the most exciting aspects of your role as a co-founder at Anbosoft?

For me, the most exciting part is shaping both the vision and the execution. As a co-founder, I get to connect strategic decisions with hands-on problem-solving. Every day is a mix of building technology that makes an impact and empowering our team to innovate. Watching ideas grow into solutions that help our clients is incredibly rewarding.

What’s a testing trend/innovation that’s got you excited these days?

I’m particularly excited about the convergence of AI with traditional testing practices. Tools are becoming smarter at predicting risk areas, generating meaningful test cases, and reducing repetitive work. It’s pushing us closer to true “continuous quality” rather than just “continuous delivery.”

What’s your hot take on AI in testing?

AI is not here to replace testers—it’s here to augment them. The real value is in how humans and AI collaborate: testers bring context, creativity, and critical thinking, while AI handles speed, scale, and data analysis. Teams that embrace this balance will thrive.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting their career in testing?

Stay curious. Tools and frameworks will come and go, but curiosity and critical thinking will always be your strongest assets. Ask “why” often, and don’t be afraid to look beyond the obvious.

I combine several approaches: experimenting hands-on with new tools, staying active in professional communities, attending conferences, and mentoring. Teaching and sharing knowledge with others is one of the best ways to stay sharp yourself.

What are the things you wish you knew about testing when you started your career?

I wish I knew how deeply testing is tied to communication. Early in my career, I thought testing was mainly about tools and execution. Over time, I realized it’s equally about collaboration, storytelling, and influencing decisions. Testers are advocates for quality, and that’s as much about people as it is about technology.

Outside of the tech world, what’s a hobby or activity you’re really passionate about?

I’m passionate about traveling and exploring new cultures with my family. It gives me fresh perspectives and helps me recharge creatively. I also enjoy fitness and outdoor activities, which keep me balanced and energized.
