Direct access to Developer options is disabled on BrowserStack remote devices to maintain device security, system stability, and a clean environment for every test run.
However, BrowserStack and Appium provide native capabilities for the most common developer configuration requirements:
* Disable UI Animations: Pass the Appium capability disableWindowAnimation: true in your test script to turn off window animations and prevent test flakiness.
* Simulate GPS Locations: Pass browserstack.geoLocation in your capabilities to set mock coordinates. Refer to the documentation on Simulate GPS Location.
* Access Logcat Logs: Device logs are automatically captured during test execution and can be viewed on the App Automate Dashboard or retrieved via REST API without requiring USB Debugging settings. Refer to the documentation on Device Logs.
* Simulate Network Conditions: Use the browserstack.networkProfile capability to test custom network conditions such as 3G, 4G, or offline modes. Read the documentation on Network Simulation.
