Keeping the integration up-to-date ensures you have the latest bug fixes and features (such as new device support for screenshots).
For Jira Cloud:
Jira Cloud apps typically update automatically. However, you can force a check or verify the status manually.
1. Go to Apps > Manage your apps.
2. If an update is pending or available, an Update button appears next to the BrowserStack for Jira listing. Click Update.
3. Wait for the success notification that confirms the new version is active.
For Jira Data Center:
On-premise installations do not auto-update. You must manually trigger the update process.
1. Log in as a Jira Administrator.
2. Go to Administration (cog wheel) > Manage apps.
3. Look for the Update available filter or banner at the top of the list.
4. Locate BrowserStack for Jira. If a new version exists, an Update button will be visible.
5. Click Update.
6. Confirm the action in the modal dialog.
7. After the process finishes, verify the new version number in the app details.
Tip: If your Jira instance is behind a firewall and cannot connect to the Atlassian Marketplace, you must download the `.jar` or `.obr` file from the Atlassian Marketplace and use the Upload app link in the Manage apps screen to update manually.
