Set device date, time, and time zone on BrowserStack real devices
Set the exact date, time, and time zone on BrowserStack devices to test date and time-based use cases on App Live.
You can set the date, time, and time zone of your preference on BrowserStack devices to test app scenarios that require different date, time, and time zone on App Live. For example, time-specific notifications and updates, test cases with future timelines, timestamps for chat sessions on remote devices, and more.

Supported devices and formats
This guide provides information about setting the date, time, and time zone on iOS devices.

| Change date | Devices running iOS 16 or above | Any date that is up to 7 days in the future from the current date. For example, if the current date is 1 Jan 2024, you can set the new date to any date up to 8 Jan 2024. The date is set in the DD/MM/YYYY format. |
| Change time | Devices running iOS 13 or above, or Android 6 or above | 12-hour or 24-hour time format. By default, devices use the 24-hour format. |
| Change time zone | Devices running iOS 13 or above | Any time zone available in the Time Zone drop-down list. |
To configure these settings on Android, launch your App Live test session and follow the standard Google documentation. You can toggle the time format from the Android Settings in vertical toolbar.
Additionally, on Android devices, changing the time format might not immediately reflect in the notification bar. However, your app reads the updated time format correctly.
Set date, time, and time zone
To set the date, time, and time zone of your preference on iOS, follow these steps:
- Log in to the App Live dashboard.
- Select your app and the iOS device from the device listing to launch your test session.
- On the App Live vertical toolbar, click iOS Settings > General.
- Click Set Date & Time.
- On the Set Date & Time prompt, you can configure the following settings:

Set Date and Time Automatically:
- Turn on this toggle to set the device date and time to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
- The Set Date & Time Automatically setting is disabled by default. After enabling this setting, you cannot manually set the date, time, and time zone on the device.

Date:
- In the Date text field, click the calendar icon, select the desired date, and click Apply.
- You can only select a date that is up to 7 days in the future from the current date.

Time:
Devices use the 24-hour format by default. You can select your preferred time format and set the time during your test session:- For the 24-hour format, select the hour and minutes to set the time in
HH:MMformat. The drop-down to select am/pm is disabled. Click Update time. - For the 12-hour format, select the hour, minutes, and am/pm to set the time in
HH:MM XMformat. Click Update time.
- For the 24-hour format, select the hour and minutes to set the time in

Time Zone:
- From the Time Zone drop-down, select the time zone you want to set. You can also search for and select your preferred time zone.
- You can also click the Remember time zone for future checkbox to set the time zone persistently for future sessions.
After you select the time zone, the device time zone changes and a confirmation banner is displayed.
